I was asked to make the cake for my friends bridal shower wich is coming up in a few weeks ....well she asked for Red velvet cake wich I have not made in quite sometime and in the past I have had help from a boxed mix. I decided this time however to make it from scratch so a practice run was in need before I made it for the actual shower. I used a recepie I found on the food network sight and made it into cupcakes so that the Bride to be could test the cake and make sure it was to her liking. They turned out super yummy and cooked up in about 20 min the recepie was simple and easy to follow I thought it would be difficult to make but it was actually rather simple.
I Frosted them with a buttercream frosting that I tinted with red food dye to give it a light pink color. The bride was very pleased and said it was the best Red velvet cake she had ever eaten so I will give myself a pat on the back for that one and hope that it is as big of a hit with her guests as it was with her.
